About Me
So you want to know a thing or two about me, eh? Well, we don’t have all day, so I hope you’re fine with the condensed version.
For starters, I’ll be 26 this March (2009). I’m a husband and a father of the most beautiful girl in the world. But you probably want to know where I came from, so here’s the scoop.
I’m a lifetime Charlotte native who’s been interested in too many things for too many years. I’ve got a love of cars (maybe not quite as obsessed anymore), though maybe better to describe a love of anything that goes fast. I’m going to school right now, planning to transfer to a 4 year for Aerospace Engineering. No shit. I’ve been in love with flight and space since I was little, even going to Space Camp when I was 10. What an experience.
I also got into computers when I was real young, and by age 12 I was designing websites (including one for my celeb crush, miss Larisa Oleynik). I also learned a few other things as well. By 12th grade I already had my A+ and working on my Net+. Then I got stupid. In some ways the dark years, in other ways the best years of my life. How to begin…
Well, I stopped going to school (they let me going in 12th grade, forcing me to get my diploma at a communtiy college). I moved to Tennessee for a bit with a probationed former drug dealer (Oxy and Hydro pills) for about 5-6 months. Needles to say she died in 2004 (shortly after my daughter was born) of a drug overdose, even after cleaning up much of her life. That all ended in May/June, when her ex-boyfriend showed back up with a new recipe for making acid, and she went gaga for him again. Whatever.
I headed off to Parris Island and trained for a month until something technical happened and I had to head home (no, no drugs or faggotry. so don’t bother). 10 days before my platoon’s graduation date, 9/11 happened. I’ll never forget that day. It took my awhile to get myself together, I traveled a lot and took a shot at college. The college thing didn’t really fit, and although I did great at a tech-school, I lacked the motivation to go out and get a real job in IT. The travel was great though. Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, Asheville, Richmond, DC, NOVA in general, NYC, Boston, etc. etc. etc. etc. I hit every state on the Atlantic (except Maine) and a number of others too. I met my future roommates when they came from New Hampshire to Charlotte to pick up parts I got for them while in Florida. Also went to DC and NY. Also met a few girls along the way, although nothing much came out of those really (since I’m married and it bothers my wife, I will limit what I did in that department).
Lived in Matthews, NC a bit, went to school, then worked at Pep Boys. My roommates were married to each other, and there was strains all around, so I moved back home. A few months later I find out I’m going to be a dad. Wow that changed my life. And just a few days after I quit my crummy ass job at Pep Boys.
I sold cars for a while. That didn’t work (I couldn’t sell a Ford Taurus to a guy who wanted one. Really, who wants to go out and buy one of those unless your a rental company?!). Worked in a warehouse for a couple of years, worked as a temp warranty clerk for a year and a half. Now I’m here, providing IT services through one of the largest computer companies in the world servicing one of the largest banks in the world. Can’t complain, but I could be making more money. And at least, right now during this recession, I have a job. And I have school, which I started Summer 2006 and should be finished this Summer. And I am definitely ready to be over and done with it. Fulltime work, fulltime school, with a family ain’t a laughing matter.
So here I am, soon to be 26, almost with my A.S., working uptown making ok money in the 19th largest city of the country, trying to keep all the pieces together. That’s me.
And for those who really do know me, you are free to embellish this.
